When working with clients, I like to encourage a collaborative and transparent process. I try to involve my clients every step of the way, providing regular updates and sharing work-in-progress visuals. This approach allows for continuous input and feedback, ensuring that we remain aligned throughout the entire project.
By maintaining open communication and addressing potential changes early on, we can avoid major revisions later, saving time and keeping the project on track. Ultimately, this method ensures the final outcome perfectly reflects your vision whilst staying on time and within budget.

Once I have gathered all your ideas, resources, and other information, including brand identities and inspirational materials, I'll start the process by creating mood boards and sketches for you to look at. This ensures that we are on the same page before making any definitive style and tone choices for the project.
This is the phase where I go to work, crafting and designing the product for you. Throughout the process, I'll consistently provide updates, encouraging your feedback to minimize the necessity for extensive revisions by the end of the project.
This is the stage where we meticulously finalize every detail, ensuring that all the i’s are dotted and the t’s are crossed. To guaranteeing your genuine love for the end result, take a moment to thoroughly examine it, share with your team, and then return to me with your definitive list of revisions.
Once you've given the thumbs up to the final project version, I'll get to work rendering it into the agreed-upon formats. As your project wraps up, I'll swiftly send over the files. Now, armed with the completed project, you're all set to proudly share it with the world.

Moodboards
Moodboards are essential tools used to visually communicate and explore creative ideas. By collecting a combination of images, colours, textures, typography, and other visual elements, they help convey the desired style, tone, and mood of a project before the design work begins. This visual reference allows clients to clearly understand the creative direction from the outset.
Moodboards are particularly useful for establishing the aesthetic and emotional feel of a project. Where possible, I like to present several moodboards to clients, offering them the chance to explore different creative approaches. This stage is ideal for experimenting with new ideas and ensuring we’re on the same page before progressing with the design.
Sketches
Most projects go through several sketching phases before moving into more refined design work. I typically begin with pencil sketches, as they allow for quick, organic exploration of ideas. However, depending on the nature of the project and its current stage, I may also create digital sketches.
This phase is crucial for identifying potential amendments, as it's the most flexible point in the process. Sketches can be easily revised, enabling us to fine-tune the design without committing to time-consuming changes later.
Character Design
Character design is crucial for bringing a story, brand, or concept to life. Well-designed characters create an emotional connection with the audience, making them memorable and engaging. Whether in animation, illustration, or branding, strong character design helps convey personality, values, and narrative, making it easier for audiences to relate to and understand the message.
A visually appealing and thoughtfully crafted character can become a powerful symbol that enhances the overall impact of a project.
Design frames
Design frames are an important step I sometimes use before moving on to full storyboards, particularly for projects that are labor-intensive or highly detailed. These frames represent key moments in the animation and serve as a visual preview for the client, offering a clear glimpse of how the final product will look. By using design frames, I can ensure alignment with the client vision, which allows for last-minute adjustments to the style, tone, or overall mood of the project.
This step not only streamlines the creative process but also provides an opportunity to refine the visual direction before committing to the more time-consuming work.
Storyboards
Storyboards are vital tools for visualising and planning the flow of a project. They act as a sequence of still frames, outlining key points in a scene, camera angles, and actions, providing a clear overview for how the animation will unfold. Storyboards help ensure me and the clients share a unified vision, making it easier to spot potential issues early and streamline production.
Moving storyboards, take this a step further by adding motion and timing to the still frames. If possible, I also try to add any voice overs and music we have. This allows for a more dynamic preview of how the final animation will flow, helping to fine-tune pacing, transitions, and timing before full production begins.
